I bought a hair salon around 2 years ago, at the age of 25 from a family memeber i was naive at the time.
the sale was from a family member to cut a long story short, i bought on 2 sets of accounts
a vat registered hairdressing business & a NON vat registered barber shop.
The salon is big with a basement
the ladies staff where under the vat registered hair salon
the gents under a non vat registered barber shop
the barber shop activity happened in the basement, but in reality it was all done on the same floor.
but even if the babrering was done in the basement it was all under the same bulding with only 1 shop name in the same point of entry.
the old owner says this is Legal and ok and had 3 inspection previously but i think hes a liar
where would the vat take stance in this situation?
ive merged it all into one now as it seems the legal proper way to do it?
