VAT information and calculations can get very difficult and complicated when you are trying to do it all manually. There is a useful software that is designed specifically for cross border selling and EU VAT. Cross Border VAT software, apparently are one of the most affordable software packages out there currently.
I am also a user for my amazon channel and it helped me save £1000’s compared to what I was planning to pay with other software packages.

There are some useful software to help you manage your VAT obligations and one which will even tell you when you are hitting a threshold of an EU country. If you sell Cross Border then your VAT % will be different.
rainbow123MemberAre you VAT registered in the Netherlands if that’s a place of business for you? Might be worth looking into a Cross Border VAT software on google.
rainbow123MemberQuite a peculiar situation I must say. what did you end up doing in the end?
A great way to help prevent this in the future is by using a reliable software that will help take care of your VAT for you especially with Amazon/eBay and cross border selling. This is incredibly useful as I have learnt from my own experiences the types of complexities that can take place. I know of a software called Cross Border VAT who really helped me get all my VAT obligations correct as I sell to other EU countries
rainbow123MemberThe VAT is 18% in Malta and the sales threshold is 35000 euros. If you get registered in the UK for VAT you can claim VAT back from the products that you buy to run your company. This is known as input VAT.
rainbow123MemberManaging your VAT obligations can be quite a hard task especially if your just starting out. Might be worth looking into a reliable software to help manage all this. I did the same when I started my business. There are quite a few on the market but as your business starts to grow and if you ever start providing your services into other countries in the EU you would have a different VAT threshold for that which means it wont be the standard UK 20%. There is a cross border VAT software that might be useful for this and I believe it also notifies you as and when you need to register for VAT in a particular country too. Apparently there is no other software that does that. Anyways hope this helps
