Reduced rate vat

I live on a caravan park we just received our site fees which norm would be late January but in receiving it they have put 5%tax which currently is correct but they have put the site fees up by £383.00 so without notice  so instead of paying 2,500 they are charging £2,883.00 +5% which takes it to 3,000  we asked why the the site fee has been increased only to be told they were not passing on any of the benefits of the low tax of 5%.even though we had a letter earlier this year stating no increase in site fees can the owners of this site do this? Surely if there not passing it on it should state 20% and the normal site fee ,on our invoice  or are they keeping the the balance  I don’t know it doesn’t seem right and feel we are being ripped off ??the owner just stated we are paying £3,000 which is fine it’s how there asking for it? Really need some clarity on this

its a tricky one…but you can raise this up with HMRC if you are not happy with your caravan park owner on HMRC at [email protected].
